Disable Reading Layout

When you open Microsoft Word documents from e-mail attachments or from other sources, Word displays them in what is called "Reading Layout". While this layout is supposed to make the documents easier to scan through as it repaginates them to better fit your screen, many people dislike this feature as it can mess up tables of contents, lists, tables, and long paragraphs.

To prevent reading layout view from opening automatically change the settings.

Step One:

Open Word program
Click Office Button / Word Options
Select Popular
Remove check mark from Open e-mail attachments in Full Screen Reading view box
OK

OK

Step Two:

Check the Viewing options in Word:
Click View tab / Select Print Layout
