If you did not have the chance to create a bibliographic source, you may want to create a placeholder citation on the fly, and add the bibliographic data at a later date. Any changes that you make to a source are automatically reflected in the bibliography, if you have already created one. A question mark appears next to placeholder sources in Source Manager Place the cursor where you want to include the citation Go to References tab / Citations & Bibliography group Click Insert Citation / Add New Placeholder The following window displays
Type in the name of the author as a tag name for the source / OK Click over the entry and you find a bluish blue field Do not edit the citation if you have not completed the bibliographic entry. Add the pages after you have completed the bibliographic entry and the page information will be correctly formatted. If you have the bibliographic entry completed, select Edit Citation and the
following screen displays
The Citation is now listed in your paper. When you are ready to fill in the bibliographic data Edit source and select the type of bibliographic entry and fill in the information. The next time you want to include a citation to Crestford's work, just click
