Desktop Taskbar Icons

The bottom taskbar has the ability to display many programs, etc. Previous versions of Windows had small icons; Windows 7 has large icons.

Double click an icon to start or open the item represented.

Click the Office Start Button to access programs, folders, and computer settings.

Add a program to the taskbar

Drag and drop the program icon to the bottom of the taskbar.

To delete a program from the taskbar

Right click over the icon; a pop-up box message

One of the  new features is the ability to stack open files and preview the documents.

Three Word documents were opened: Notice the Word icon now has stacks/layers of documents
 

If you place the cursor on the Word icon, three mini previews display.
Hover over the preview and the file opens to full view. This is a great timesaver to find the exact file you want to work on.

To close any of these preview windows, simply hover over a peek, a red x displays, click to close the document.
