Header and Footer

Make sure you save your file before you begin to add Header / Footer information.

A Header prints along the top of every page; the Footer is text that prints on the bottom. To add a header or footer, follow these steps:

Click View
Click Header and Footer

The window changes to Page Layout, a dotted area titled Header displays at the beginning of the page and the floating Header / Footer tool bar displays.

Click the Footer icon and a dotted area titled Footer displays at the bottom of the page

Type in the information and use the common editing toolbar to customize font, size, color, etc.

Use the Tab key to move to center or right … do not use the align icons

Click Insert Auto Text button to select pre-formatted options

Insert a date use the date insert icon ; want more control?
Click Insert and Click Date and Time
Customize the page set up: Click the page setup icon

Notice the Headers and footers section
Make necessary changes
Check off Different first page
This option takes into account your title page
Click Close

Click the Print Preview icon an d look at the Header / Footer data you inserted
Save your file with the Header / Footer information
