Saving to the P:\drive

The IT Department has servers to provide you with safe storage for your files. Every employee at Rivier College has pds (Personal drive space). We strongly encourage you to use these personal folders.  

Regardless of the application you are working in the directions remain the same.

How do I save to my folder on the P:\drive?

1. Click File / Save as

    The screen automatically opens to the default folder called Personal
    This folder is located on your PC's hard disk

2. Click the black arrow 
    A drop down list will display other options

3. Select staff on 'pds' (P:) or, Select faculty on 'pds' (P:) or, Select your name if part of the display
        Example :  acallahan on 'pds\staff' (P:)
    If your name does not appear on the option
    Click staff on 'pds' (P:)  or, faculty on 'pds' (P:)

A list of personal folders will display

   Look for your folder
        Folders are filed according to the first initial of your name followed by your family name
        Example:    acallahan

4. Double click to open your personal folder 
5. Save to your personal folder
6.  While you are in your personal folder it is possible to create separate folders

Click the New folder icon
A pop-up screen will display
Type in the name for the folder
Click OK
Save the document
