Viewing Options

PowerPoint has several options for viewing slides:

Open the PowerPoint presentation
Click View

These are 4 choices from the drop-down list.
There are more options on the lower task bar icons.

Normal View presents a 3 paned layout:  the outline, slide, and notes section.  You can work in all 3 panes.

On the left-hand side is the Outline
On the right-hand side is a preview of the slide and a space to add notes

Slide Sorter allows you to rearrange the order of miniature slides. In this view, it is possible to add slide transitions and build effects, to move slides, etc.

Notes Page allows you to type in speaker notes for each slide. Only the user sees these prompts.

Click to add text … type in text; then scroll down to next slide, etc.

Slide Show begins the actual presentation. This is the finished product.

Other Viewing Options

On the lower task bar at the extreme left are other viewing icons.

From left to right:

Normal View, Outline View, Slide View, Slide Sorter View, Slide Show

New: Outline View  Use the Outline View to develop the content.  Click a topic and a miniature slide will appear.

The larger left-side pane is the outline; edit or add data as needed

The right-side pane includes a small view of the slide with a larger area to Add notes.

Slide View shows a slightly altered look to the drop-down menu.

The larger part of the screen shows the slide

The left-hand side of the screen indicates how many slides are included in the presentation. The bold faced slide is on the desktop.

Move the left-sided margin to the right and portions of the outline will appear.

The similarity with the drop-down menu is clear.

Slide View Sorter and Slide Show are the same as the drop-down menus.
