Stationery Uses HTML Formatting

Outlook has the ability to display fancy background stationery. As most of the college community is now trained to use the finer aspects of Outlook, you will be receiving e-mail messages with background stationery. If you intend to view stationery, you must use HTML to format your e-mail.

Directions for setting HTML formatting:

1. Bring up your Outlook program
2. Select Tools
3. Click Options
4. Click on the Mail Format Tab

5. Send this message in:  from the drop-down list Select HTML
6.  Click OK

Use background stationery for on-campus e-mail and for other users of Outlook.

Do not use background stationery for other e-mail services. Many of them cannot read Outlook's stationery code.

NOTE:  If you have not customized your system to receive in HTML code, e-mail will be delivered on a white background. However, you will see an attachment file with the name of the stationery on the bottom left hand side of the e-mail. Disregard the attachment. Do not attempt to open it, as the HTML format is disabled.
