Using Values and Operators in a Query

Retrieve ranges of data from a database by using values or selecting comparison operators. The following table will show some examples of values and operators.

Common values: >, <, >=, <=, or, <>, between

These values and operators are entered in the CRITERIA section

Numbers greater than 250

Specific names ending with Smith

<>"Green"

Is not equal to Green

All records beginning Jan. 1, 1999

Is greater than or equal to 300

Is less than or equal to 100

Between 10 And 20

Number from 10-20 inclusive

like "S*"

Items beginning with letter s

Is null

Selects empty fields

Or ("France" or "Germany")

Selects records from France and Germany

And (The word and is not specifically used)

Selects two or more search fields
