The user interface has been significantly redesigned in the following 2010 Microsoft Office system programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook (in the composing and reading windows). The File Menu replaces the Microsoft Office Button and is located in the upper-left corner of these Microsoft Office programs.

When you click the File Button, you see the same basic commands available in earlier releases of Microsoft Office to open, save, and print your file.
The entire screen is now called the Backstage. Notice there are three sections with different options and information.

The File Button includes the basic menus ... notice that the Options and Recent documents setting are now included in this section.
The middle section offers options based on the menu selections.
The third section contains a miniature window of the opened document and all the related data.

 

Click all the Menu Icons to review available options.
