Compress Images

PowerPoint presentations are large files. These files can be a problem if you are emailing them to students/colleagues who are using free email accounts.

There is a way to compress the pictures and to reduce file size.

When you save the PPT presentation, try the following:

Click the File button / Save As
Save as type: Click the down arrow and select the file type

The following window displays / this is the bottom section of the dialog box

Click Tools / Compress Pictures...

Click Screen (150 ppi) this is the default for ppt presentations
Make sure the two boxes are checked /OK to save changes

Compressing images will reduce the size of the file.

Once these options are saved, they are retained in memory.
