Using familiar cultural and archetypal references, Clifford Davis' painting explores the boundary between the seen and unseen. Fluidly moving between humor and horror, tradition and invention, his work taps into the deep-seated human need to understand the transcendent world through symbol. Clifford holds the MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art and teaches painting and drawing at Rivier College.
