Dianne Mercier of Manchester, President of People's United Bank for New Hampshire, has been elected Chair of Rivier University's Board of Trustees. She has served as a member of the Board since 2010 and also serves on the University’s Finance and Investment and Enrollment committees.

Mercier has vast experience in the banking industry with a career that has spanned 30 years in a variety of leadership positions in community and commercial banking. She has served in her current position of President of People's United Bank for New Hampshire, where she directly oversees commercial banking and executes division banking strategy, since 2009.
Prior to this, Mercier served as senior vice president and group manager for commercial lending at Ocean Bank. Earlier in her career, she held key positions at Citizens Bank and First NH Bank.
Mercier was recognized as the 2014 Business Leader of the Year by Business NH Magazine—honored for her effectiveness on numerous, key nonprofit boards and at the fourth largest bank in the state. She received the 2012 Outstanding Women in Business Award from NH Business Review, and was a member of the 2009 class of Leadership New Hampshire and 2000 class of Leadership Manchester.
She is a dedicated community leader, committed to improving the lives of others. In addition to Rivier University, she serves on the boards for the Elliot Health System, Manchester Chamber of Commerce, The New England Council, New Hampshire Center for Public Policy Studies and RiverWoods at Exeter.
