Rivier University establishes Business Program Advisory Board

NASHUA, N.H. – Rivier University has recently formed a Business Program Advisory Board (BPAB) composed of leaders and managers from the industry who are experts within the business world. Rivier alumni are among the members. The board will provide expertise and recommendations for enhancing current programs and introducing new programs in Rivier’s Business Division. The specific emphasis will focus on a niche market within the Greater Boston area, as well as internationally with the online avenue.

Rivier University currently provides both undergraduate and graduate business programs with the traditional undergraduate day model, the evening and hybrid adult models, and graduate evening and online models. With a demand for diverse business programs and courses, the BPAB will help to improve on the University’s current offerings while also exploring the possibility of new programs and courses in the future. Rivier also currently has a Business Program Review for the purpose of reviewing the programs and courses currently in place and looking into ways to expand and enhance, which the activities of the Board will support.

The first Board meeting took place on Jan. 31, with a number of topics discussed including the top skills that employers are looking for in 2013. The Board will meet semi-annually.

“The Division of Business is looking forward to the expertise of, and collaborations with, each Board member for many years to come,” said Dr. Amir Toosi, Dean of Business Administration and Assistant Professor of Business Administration at Rivier. “The Board members bring a diverse set of skills and knowledge to the table that will be beneficial in improving upon the University’s business programs and course offerings.”
