in its second year, the Doctoral Conference on Leadership and Learning (DCLL)
is an annual conference that offers doctoral students an opportunity to present
their current, innovative, and scholarly work in education and related
the success of last year’s peer-reviewed research conference, we wanted to
expand in a direction that would provide an even better experience for our
attendees,” said Dr. Naomi Schoenfeld, associate professor of education and DCLL
faculty advisor. “We added a day of workshops on topics that doctoral students
in the region had identified as especially important to them.”

programs, the workshop format provides a venue for regional doctoral students
to strengthen their skills in essential areas such as research, publication,
ethics, and collegiality. Workshop topics include creating or building an academic
curriculum vitae (CV), navigating the IRB process, authoring posters,
conference presentation techniques, and student panels on program and
the presentation roster has been filled, all members of the educational
research community are encouraged and welcome to participate, especially
current and prospective doctoral students.
keynote speaker will be Dr. Dorothy Bauer. Dr. Bauer is the co-author of
several publications on Early Sprouts, a nutrition and gardening curriculum for
preschool. Her current research is focused on the perspectives of early
childhood educators working with immigrant and refugee children and their
Bauer earned her bachelor's degree in psychology, master's degree in early
childhood special education, and doctorate in human development, and has taught
at Keene State College since 1981. She currently teaches graduate and
undergraduate courses, and supervises pre-service teachers in primary grades
settings. She coordinates the Early Childhood undergraduate program and the
Curriculum & Instruction Master’s program at Keene State.
