RISE spring course preview scheduled for January 17; spring courses set to begin February 3

Jan. 4, 2014--NASHUA, N.H.--The Rivier Institute for Senior Education (RISE) Spring Course Preview is scheduled for Friday, January 17, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Demoulas Room of the Benoit Education Center located at Rivier University on Clement Street (off Main Street), in Nashua, N.H.

Two five-week semesters are offered. Part one begins Feb. 3 and ends March 7; part two begins March 17 and ends April 25. No learning prerequisites or tests are required. Membership for the ten weeks of courses is $120 and includes computer labs, the use of the Muldoon Health and Fitness Center, the Regina Library, and Dion Dining Hall.

With a choice of five courses each term, the 55 courses include literature, history, music and dance, computer science, creating digital slide shows, religion, philosophy and spiritual enrichment, writing, world cultures, current events, and intermediate bridge. Courses are not credit bearing. Also included in the fee are choices of moderate exercise and water exercise courses.

The RISE program, tailored for “learning in retirement”, is in its seventeenth year. Individuals over age 55 are welcome to learn more about RISE, preview courses and register with a check for the spring semester at the course preview.
