HR Procedures

Below are procedures for several Human Resources activities. If you do not find the information you need here, please contact the Office of Human Resources at ext. 8717. All forms related to these procedures are located in the FORMS section of the website.

ACCIDENTS/INCIDENTS
ALL accidents/incidents MUST be reported to the Office of Human Resources within 24 hours of the occurrence. Both the employee and supervisor are required to submit Accident/Incident reports.

BENEFITS
Rivier University Tuition Remission
: Benefits eligible employees, their spouses and dependents may attend Rivier University using the tuition remission benefit. When using this benefit, the employee is required to complete a tuition waiver form. Once the employee has obtained the necessary signatures, the tuition waiver form must be sent to the Office of Human Resources for processing. Additional information about this benefit appears in the Staff Handbook.

NHCUC and CIC-TEP Tuition Remission: Concurrent with the admissions application, the NHCUC or CIC-TEP benefit should be requested. Benefits eligible employees requesting this benefit are required to complete a tuition remission request form and submitted it to the Office of Human Resources. The OHR will complete and forward the NHCUC or CIC-TEP application to the host institution.

EMPLOYMENT
Hiring Procedures
: All hiring activities are coordinated through the Office of Human Resources. The hiring process begins with the submission of the New Personnel Requisition (NPR) form for approval. The Instructions for completing the NPR:

  • Faculty Position – Complete sections A, B, E, F and G on the NPR. Forward NPR to the VPAA for approvals (section D). Please remember to include ALL necessary attachments when forwarding NPR.
  • Staff Position – Complete sections A, C, E, F, and G on the NPR. Forward NPR to divisional VP for approvals (section D). Please remember to include ALL necessary attachments when forwarding NPR.

New Employee Orientation: All new employees are required to attend orientation. Faculty and staff are asked to bring all orientation documents to their orientation, including the necessary IDENTIFICATION to complete the I-9 form.

Adjunct Faculty, Graduate Assistants and Temporary/Seasonal employees are asked to bring the following forms to their orientation:

  • Employee Information and Change Form
  • I-9
  • W-4
  • Voluntary Self Identification Form
  • Direct Deposit Form

Changes to Employee’s Personal Information: For changes such as name, address, marital status, and dependents, please complete the Employee Information and Change Form and forward it to the Office of Human Resources.
