DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Office of Marketing & Communications seeks a talented and motivated Writer to support marketing, recruitment, and advancement strategies and initiatives:

  • Serve as the University’s primary writer—write copy for a variety of marketing and recruitment publications, public relations, and the website.
  • Oversee the University’s website, utilizing a web-based content management system, ensuring that website content is engaging, current and accurate.
  • Serve as media liasion identifying public relations opportunities, writing press releases and disseminating news stories to the media on a timely basis.
  • Manage and monitor the University’s social media presence, posting news, events and other information on the sites daily.
  • Attend and cover campus events as needed, writing news stories, and taking photographs and videos. Some events occur outside of normal business hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability and willingness to support the mission of the university and the division, in all daily activities. 
  • Bachelor’s degree plus two years of professional writing experience in a marketing and communications environment (higher education preferred). 
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated experience writing for a variety of marketing publications. 
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office. 
  • Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.
