• Provides vision, leadership, planning, budget oversight, data analysis and coordination of services for student recruitment, outreach, and enrollment of new incoming first-time freshmen and transfer students. Develops comprehensive strategies that embrace innovation, student/family-centered recruitment, and yield initiatives. This position is open until filled.  
  • This position reports to the Vice President of Enrollment management (VPEM), and serves as the lead administrator for undergraduate recruitment, with sole leadership and implementation responsibility for all first-year recruitment activities and general daily administration of the undergraduate admissions operation.  As a senior member of the Enrollment Division, the director is a collaborator with the other directors, is hands-on, and contributes to effective recruitment of all student populations to Rivier.   


  • The successful candidate will be accountable for achieving enrollment goals and providing staff with training to meet their goals. Works in consultation with the VPEM to create and evaluate enrollment goals and the recruitment plan.   
  • Candidate will also have strong analytical skills and be comfortable knowing the key elements for admissions analysis and how to work with the data directly to make data informed decisions for planning.   
  • Directly responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of staff, and exhibits a high and constantly growing level of knowledge in terms of admissions best practices, office operations, the University, and effective sales and service techniques.  
  • This position requires attention to detail, delegation, and project-management abilities; persistence; the highest level of commitment and work ethic; ability to motivate, supervise and lead others.   
  • Must have experience with marketing, building communication plans, tele-counseling programs, online communications and social media, budget, and management of the daily operation of the office. 


  • The ability and willingness to support the mission of the University, in all daily activities.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred.  
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a senior admissions role required, must include supervisory experience.  
  • Must have prior admissions experience in higher education with progressive responsibility.  
  • Must be willing to travel with a travel obligation 30-40% of the time.  Ability to work flexible hours in a highly fluid environment.  Must have valid driver’s license.   
  • Must have knowledge of enrollment concepts including, but not limited to, financial aid, net tuition revenue.  
  • Detail oriented, strong leadership skills, conflict resolution skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong time management skills, and multitasking capabilities are all required.  
  • Must have the ability to identify technology to support enrollment goals.  
  • Must have the ability to manage a budget.  
  • Understanding and commitment to Catholic higher education.
