GRADUATE ASSISTANT
DIVISION OF EDUCATION- COUNSELING & PSYCHOLOGY
(21.3 hours per week for 16 weeks, or 20 hours per week for 17 weeks)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Organizing internship placement criteria for internship sites:  This falls under technical responsibilities and affords the graduate assistant an opportunity to learn how the internship process works from start to finish.  It also provides an opportunity for networking among internship placement sites. 
  • Organizing databases using excel: This falls under technical responsibilities and affords the graduate assistant an opportunity to learn and manage information in the excel database.
  • Maintaining Canvas survey data: This falls under technical responsibilities and affords the graduate assistant with exposure to the Canvas learning environment as well as creating/maintaining a data base that is being used to accumulate student responses to the hybrid learning format.
  • Running analysis of research data using SPSS: This falls under research responsibilities as the graduate assistant works closely with faculty to organize and analyze research data.
  • Creating demonstration videos (DVD) for use with counseling courses: This falls under technical responsibilities and affords the graduate student with an opportunity to use advanced technical/computer skills to create DVD clips of graduate students in mock counseling sessions.
  • Other clerical and research duties (as necessary):  Compiling research articles for professors working on publications

 QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • The ability and willingness to support the mission of the University, in all daily activities. 
  • Enrollment in a graduate program at Rivier University

COMPENSATION: 
This position is 21.3 hours per week for 16 weeks, or 20 hours per week for 17 weeks  (Exact weeks, days and hours worked to be determined with supervisor.)  Compensation is a tuition waiver of 9 graduate credits during the fall semester. Courses need to be taken simultaneously with the semesters worked as graduate assistant.
