ADJUNCT- BIOCHEMISTRY
DIVISION OF ARTS & SCIENCES
(6 credits- 3 fall 2013 and 3 spring 2014)
DUTIES/REPONSIBILITIES:
Rivier University is looking for a part-time adjunct faculty member to teach Biochemistry I (CHE 306) in Fall 2013 semester (a 3-credit course) and Biochemistry II (CHE 307) in Spring 2014 semester (a 3-credit course) for biology majors. Topics include: protein structure and function, enzymes and enzyme kinetics, nucleic acids, bio-chemical energetics, major catabolic and selected anabolic pathways, photosynthesis, nucleotide metabolism, and gene expression and regulation. There are no laboratories associated with the courses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates qualified to teach undergraduates will have a Ph.D in biochemistry, pharmacology, organic chemistry, or medical chemistry. Teaching experience is preferred. Instructors who can teach evening classes are strongly encouraged to apply. The Biochemistry course is scheduled for Wednesday night (6:30 PM – 9:00 PM).
