GRADUATE ASSISTANT
DIVISION OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
(20 hours per week, 14 weeks)- SPRING 2013 SEMESTER

The Business Administration Division Graduate Assistant (GA) responds to, and supports academically related projects and tasks, in furtherance of Division goals and objectives supporting the Institution, Division faculty and staff, and students participating in related academic courses and programs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Such projects and tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Data collection, organization, queries, analysis, and generating reports
  • Drafting and refining Division level marketing and communications correspondence
  • Supporting professional and academic event planning and execution
  • Supporting student recruiting initiatives.
  • Other appropriate tasks, as assigned.

The GA reports to the Dean of the Business Administration Division.  The GA is readily available to respond to Division faculty and staff generated task and project assignments.  The GA is available to tutor students taking Division courses.  (This is a no-fee service for students).

The GA will keep the Dean apprised of current and upcoming assigned tasks, projects, and student tutoring activities.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Must be fully admitted student in an institution graduate degree program, be making satisfactory progress in that program, and maintain good academic standing.  The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a Business Administration Division managed graduate degree program.

The ideal candidate will possess self-initiative traits, to include suggesting opportunities or activities furthering Division goals and objectives.

COMPENSATION:

This is a 20 hour a week position from January to June (2013).  (Exact weeks, days and hours worked to be determined with supervisor.)  Compensation is a tuition waiver for two 3 credit graduate courses during the spring 2013 semester, for a total of 6 credits.  Please note courses need to be taken simultaneously with the semesters worked as graduate assistant.
