The Global Engagement Team

Mark W. Meehan, Ph.D.
Dr. Meehan serves as Associate Vice President for Global Engagement and teaches in Rivier’s Global Studies program. He has traveled to nearly fifty countries, including teaching courses for American students in South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, China, Taiwan, and India. His first book will be titled, “Islam, Modernity, and the Liminal Space Between,” published by Cambridge Scholars Press. He is currently writing “Learning from Islam: An American Christian in the Middle East.” Read his complete faculty bio.

Dey Barriga
Dey Barriga has worked at Rivier University for twelve years, currently serving as International Student Advisor. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication degree in Centro Escolar University, Philippines. She is grateful for her role in advising international students and to be a part of the Global Engagement team. Dey is also the advisor for the Indian and Chinese Student Association at Rivier University. Dey is dedicated to providing a highly personal approach to help international students adjust to life at Rivier University through immigration, personal, social and cultural advising.

Hillary Sabbagh
Hillary is a graduate of Keene State College with a BA in
Spanish. She is currently pursuing her
Masters in Teaching Spanish at Rivier University, with the hopes of becoming a
Spanish teacher. She has studied abroad
in the Dominican Republic and Spain. She
has a passion for traveling and has spent time in Europe, Africa and Central
America. She is very happy to be a part
of the Global Engagement team and hopes to share her passion for travel with
students at Rivier!

Alisha Levesque
Alisha is a Senior at
Rivier majoring in Human Development. She is a student ambassador in our
office. She is planning on getting her Masters in Education after she graduates
in May. She enjoys volunteering as well as traveling. She is going to
Dharmsala, India in May to volunteer with children and infants to
improve their education as well as to improve the quality of care for the
children with disabilities.

Chloe Landon
Chloe is a senior Sociology major at the University. She is the Chairperson of the Student Government Association, Secretary of the Student Programming Board, and a member of the Women’s Studies Committee. Chloe has past work experience as an Admissions Ambassador, a Housing Office Assistant and as an Orientation Leader.

Ginelle Testa
Ginelle is a junior Sociology major, minoring in social work. She is a Student Ambassador in our office as well as the Student Scholarship Coordinator for the Financial Aid Office and a Peer Mentor for the Student Success Program. She has also worked for the Student Success Office and was a Senator for the class of 2014 in SGA. She has been to Uganda, Africa, is going to Dharamsala, India in May, and plans to be a world traveler.
