Director of International Student Services
Dey Barriga has worked at Rivier University for more than 15 years. She serves as the Director of International Student Services and International Student Advisor. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication degree at Centro Escolar University, Philippines. She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Educational Studies. She is mostly grateful for her role in advising international students.
Ms. Barriga manages the entire operation of Global Engagement. She not only serves the international students but also enjoys advising domestic students on study abroad matters. She has expanded study abroad opportunities for these students. The continuing effort to promote and facilitate education abroad through study abroad, short term faculty led trips with focus on experiential learning, and community collaboration is an equally important part of her role in the University.
Dey is also the advisor for the Indian and Chinese Student Association at Rivier University. A dedicated leader and a mentor in providing a highly personal approach to help international students adjust to life at Rivier University through immigration, personal, social and cultural advising.
She had traveled to more than five countries including Costa Rica where she co-led a teaching trip which focused on Biology experience and sustainability. Her leadership in the development of international student services and cultural integration at the University is rewarding.
Suzanne Bartlett joined Rivier University as the Coordinator for International Student Records in April 2016. She obtained her M.Ed. in School Counseling from Rivier, and her B.A. in International Studies from Baylor University. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of higher education positions; and is happy to now have the experience of working with international students in the Office of Global Engagement.
Graduate Assistant for Global Engagement
Utpala Lingalwar joined River University to pursue her master’s degree in Computer Information Systems. She has completed her undergraduate degree in BE (IT) from one of the reputed colleges in Nagpur University in India. She was a secretary of students council named SPIRIT (Society of Passionate Individuals Representing Information Technology), which conducts curricular activities of inter/intra college. Utpala also worked as an editor in a magazine published by the IT Department which has an IT News Track. Additionally, she worked in a forum named "Aura" where social cause activities used to take place. Utpala is a seasoned professional with experience working in a software organisation in India. Apart from her work, she likes to explore new things and loves to travel as much as possible.
Student Assistant for Global Engagement
Mahesh Pathipati started school at River University as a graduate student, majoring in Computer Science. He hails from Andhra Pradesh, one of the developing cities in India. He has excellent technical and developing knowledge in computer science. Mahesh is the vice president for the Indian Student Association at Rivier University. He plays a major role in all OGE events which are conducted in the university and is kind, helpful and supportive to the students at Rivier University.
