Your child deserves a safe, extraordinary place to experience learning. The Rivier University Landry Early Childhood Center, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, is a professional development school for college students training to become early childhood educators. Our dedicated, educated and loving teachers provide quality education and care for children ages 6 weeks through 6 years. The teachers work closely with the children, college student, parent, and college educators in order to promote the best in early childhood practice. A strong support system for our teachers, children, and families includes a Director, Curriculum Program Coordinator, Special Education Program Coordinator and School Nurse.
The teachers, support staff, faculty and college students of the Landry Early Childhood Center act as advocates for children and families. These individuals are committed to using research-based practices in the classroom. As leaders in our field, we recognize the importance of sharing our knowledge with parents so they too can advocate for their children. We support our families in many ways, one of which is our Parenting Series. This is a five-week program of workshops instructed by qualified individuals teaching on topics suggested by our parents.
The Landry Early Childhood Center offers the following programs intended to meet the diverse needs of families. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards limits a child’s attendance in our center to no more than 10 hours per day. Each classroom has its own schedule uniquely suited to the developmental needs of the children.

Summer Camp Program
The summer camp program offers the children a new experience every week! It is open to children between the ages of five and eight years old. Children participate in explorative learning experiences, field trips, special visitors, water fun and arts and crafts. Please call (603) 897-8240 for more information regarding Summer Camp options.
Enrichment Programs (September through May)
The LECC offers a variety of enrichment programs for all age groups! These include music, movement, drama, and more. The programs are supported by the financial contributions of our PTO and the Annual Fund. We are proud to have Steve Blunt, a popular professional musician, share his talents with the children weekly. The children love to sing along with Mr. Steve; his silly songs keep the children entertained and wanting more! Miss Anjali provides our creative movement experiences to the children, visiting each week as well. The children enjoy moving their bodies creatively to music, rhythm, words and silence! The program teaches children the importance of moving their bodies to keep them healthy and strong, and to bring peace to their minds!
