Course Description(3 credits )
An overview of information technology in the current business
environment including selected topics in software development,
implementation of physical systems, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
One or more case studies will be used to illustrate practical
considerations in real environments. Special emphasis will be given to
relational databases in data driven applications. Students will create
and access a relational database and perform On-Line Analytical
Processing, operations done in a data warehousing environment. Issues
and trade-offs relating to enterprise computing will be discussed. A
class project requiring research on current information technology
subjects is required, and each student will deliver an in-class
presentation expanding a topic covered in class.Prerequisites : CS250 Data structures and Abstraction.
