Course Description(3 credits )
An exploration of the computer science aspects of multimedia as well as the
practical applications of multimedia. This course is a practical survey of the
state of the art in multimedia. The technical aspects of the algorithms,
languages, and hardware will be covered. Students will create their own
multimedia using HTML as the "machine language" of portable
multimedia. Java will be covered, as well as the more recent innovations
introduced by PointCast and Castanet.
Prerequisites : CS245 Computer Organization
and CS250 Data Structures and Abstraction.
