Course Description( 3 credits )
Introduces students to various components of operating system including
process, memory, and I/O management. Provides a brief introduction to various
advances such as concurrent programming, parallel processing, and RISE
architectures. Case studies include UNIX, VMS, WINDOWS, and OS/2 operating
systems. Students are required to design and implement various algorithms in
area of process, memory and I/O management.
Prerequisites : CS245 Computer Organization and CS250 Data Structures and Abstraction.
