Professor Stefan Ehrlich will be remembered by his fellow professors, instructors and his students for his smile, cheerfulness and positive attitude.

Stefan’s concern for students, his efforts  and willingness to help them come to a fuller appreciation of the intellectual life, especially that of mathematics, are all indications that he took seriously the mission of the institution and all it represents.

Stefan always thought of his students. If he had a foreign student in his class and he did not know their native language he would learn it.  He would greet them with a smile and hello in their native language. That is just one of many examples which showed how Stefan always strived to be a great teacher but to also be a great example of what we all should strive to become in our lives.

Stefan will be greatly missed by all of us.
