Tcl stands for Tool command language.
It is an
interpreted scripting language designed to be used as a common extension and
customization language for applications designed and
implemented by Dr. John Ousterhout. A primary goal of Tcl is to integrate other
software libraries into one extensible language environment. Many useful applications, some of them sold
commercially, use Tcl as their scripting language.
