Summer Employment Opportunities

Summer 2006 professional job listings related to various majors

Start early and prepare carefully. Finding a good summer job or an internship will be worth your time and effort!  Keep in mind that employers start advertising summer opportunities early, often in October, and many make final hiring decisions by April.

Job search techniques for summer jobs are the same as those for permanent jobs. You'll find helpful information about conducting a thorough job search, as well as writing resumes and cover letters through our Pursuit of Employment web page of Job Search Resources.

In addition, there are many library resources that list jobs and employer information for entry-level positions.  Summer job and internship opportunities can also be found through the CDC's Internship Listings and related Internet Resources for Gaining Hands-On Experience in the workplace.
