  • The AC is a standing committee with an annual budget of $5200.

  • The AC is an advisory committee to the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA)

 

  • The AC is composed of volunteer representatives from various administrative, academic, and educational support units including senior administrators, faculty, student development professionals, educational support staff, and students.

 

  • The Chairperson of the AC  is appointed by the VPAA on a renewable annual basis.

 

  • One course equivalency is provided to the Chair per academic year.

 

  • The AC has two student representatives, appointed  yearly by the Student Government Association (AC)

 

  • The AC has a formal Assessment Policy.

 

  • The AC has a formal list of duties and responsibilities that directs assessment efforts.

 

  • The AC agenda that drives assessment activities results from a combination of bottom-up (faculty-driven) and top-down (administration) processes.

 

  • AC members serve as liaisons to department chairpersons and program directors.

 

  • AC chairperson gives representative reports of ongoing assessment activities to various constituencies internal and external to the College (e.g., Board of Trustees, Academic Council, Faculty Assembly, national assessment conferences).

 

  • Funds for faculty to attend or present at professional conferences on assessment are available.

 

  • Workshops and seminars for faculty, chairs, and deans to improve use of assessment activities and results in course design, instruction, or program evaluation are offered.
