Are you passionate about helping youth and committed to social justice? Join RISE AmeriCorps and spend ten months supporting youth in Franklin and Hampshire Counties.
RISE AmeriCorps member experience is composed of three core components: on-site service, training and development, and the team service project. Members spend the majority of their time supporting young people on site at a partner school or agency. They serve in a variety of capacities such as tutoring, mentoring, and leading service learning or other educational programming. Each Friday, members receive a half-day training in topics such as positive youth development, diversity & inclusion, group dynamics, civic engagement, and best practices for youth work. In the third element of RISE, members work together on a team service project, partnering with youth and the community. RISE members inspire youth achievement by modeling a professional, enthusiastic, and compassionate attitude toward community involvement.
Members must be at least 18 years old and U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals or lawful Permanent Residents.~Youth work experience is recommended, but not required. Some work history is necessary. Because the region service area is mostly rural, it is highly beneficial to have a driver’s license with access to reliable transportation, but it is not a requirement.
