ForsytheJen Forsythe Named to GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team

Jen Forsythe, a senior from Conway, NH, was voted by her teammates to represent Rivier College as a member of the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.  One member from each of the 13 Great Northeast Athletic Conference teams is chosen by their teamates as a representative of great character, class and leadership within their sport and team.  Jen has been a leader throughout the season with her best race time of 24:09 coming at the Gordon College Invitational.

2008 GNAC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP

Emmanuel's Cathryn Larivere capped off her outstanding season by winning the 2008 conference championship held at Saint Joseph's College of Maine. Running under chilly conditions, she outdistanced a field of 127 competitors, one of the largest in meet history. Her time of 19:46 was the only sub 20 minute in the meet, and was the fourth best all time in conference history. For her efforts she was named GNAC runner of the year. Host Saint Joseph's won the team championship, placing four runners in the top ten, led by senior Alysn Ludwig who was competing in cross country for the first time. Johnson & Wales finished second in the team standings, led by second place finisher Danielle Sargent.

Daniel Webster College - Eagle Invitational

The Rivier College women's cross country team finished 3rd at the Daniel Webster College Eagle Invitational.  The Raider squad was led by junior Maria Derosa who finished 1st for the Raiders and 7th overall with a time of 23:26:00.  Senior Jen Forsythe finished 2nd for the Raiders and 11th overall with a time of 25:02:00.  Christine Cyr, Katrina Ware and Kathryn McGowan rounded out the Raider team with 21st, 27th and 28th place finishes respectively.  The Raiders return home on September 26th for the Rivier College Invitational and hope to get an edge from their home course.
