October 13, 2007 RIVIER FINISHES 9TH OUT OF 16 TEAMS AT WNECSpringfield, MA – Junior Jen Forsythe continued her strong season, finishing at the top for the Raiders with a 23:38 at Western New England College. Janine Tranfa also ran strong finishing five seconds behind Forsythe. Maria Derosa crossed at 23:54. Ashley Thoren, Katherine McGowan and Katrina Ware rounded the race for the Raiders. The team wraps up the season in the GNAC Championship at St. Joesph College in Maine on October 27.
October 4, 2007 FORSYTHE LEADS RIVIER TO FPC WINRindge – Junior Jen Forsythe was the overall winner of the Franklin Pierce Cross Country Invitational leading Rivier to the team victory. Jen won the race with a 24:38 while Janine Tranfa was third at 26:21. Maria DeRosa and Ashley Thoren finished 5th and 6th overall while Kathryn McGowan and Katrina Ware rounded out the race for the victorious Raiders. Franklin Pierce was second and Daniel Webster was the third team to compete. The Raiders will travel to WNEC on Saturday.
September 29, 2007RIVIER COMPETES IN GORDON’S POP CROWELL INVITATIONALWenham, MA - Wellesley cruised to an easy victory over 24 teams in the Gordon College Invitational. This annual race named after “Pop Crowell” has one of the best fields in division-III competing in New England. Junior Jen Forsythe ran her best time of the year with a 22:39 for the Raiders. As a team every Raider finished with their top times of the year. Janine Tranfa was second at 23:08 while Maria DeRosa came across the line at 23:40. Ashley Thoren, Katrina Ware and Kathryn McGowan rounded out the field for the Raiders.
Rivier will travel to Franklin Pierce on October 4th.
September 21, 2007RAIDERS FINISH 6TH OUT OF 12 TEAMSNashua – Hosting their own Invitational, Rivier finished in sixth place behind eventual champions St. Anselm College. Norwich University was the second place finisher. Jen Forsythe had a great effort finishing with a time of 23:23, while Janine Tranfa closely followed with a 23:54. Maria DeRosa continues her strong performances with a 24:54. Junior Ashley Thoren had another good performance coming off a knee injury with a 26:02. Kathryn McGowan and Katrina Ware rounded out the field for the Raiders. Click here for the Rivier College's Invitational women's results.
Rivier will travel to Gordon College next week. September 14, 2007RIVIER FINISHES SECOND OUT OF 8 TEAMS AT DWCNashua – Rivier College finished a solid second in the Daniel Webster Invitational. Conference rivals Emerson College won the race followed by Rivier. Junior Jen Forsythe finished third overall in the race with a time of 24:04 followed by fellow junior Janine Tranfa with a time of 24:46. Maria DeRosa making her college debut came across with a 25:21 time. Rounding out the scoring for the Raiders were Juniors Ashley Thoren and Katrina Ware.
Rivier will host their own Invitational next Friday. |
