Jess Mellen, a junior forward on the women’s basketball team, has been named the Rivier College Female Student Athlete of the Month for November of 2008. During 6 games in the month of November, Jess has averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists per game putting her among the team leaders in each category. Mellen was also named GNAC player of the week for the week ending November 22nd and named to the GNAC honor roll for the week ending November 30th. The team has started off with an impressive 4-2 record as they head toward the winter break. Mellen is a psychology major

LANCE BISSON

Lance Bisson, a senior guard on the men’s basketball team, has been named the Rivier College Male Student Athlete of the Month for November of 2008. In the All Metals Industries/Rivier College Tip-Off Tournament, Lance was named tournament MVP while leading the Raiders to a tournament victory, defeating Colby-Sawyer College in the championship game. Bisson has been named to the GNAC honor roll twice this season (November 22, November 30). Bisson has led the Raiders to an impressive 3-0 start to the 2008 season. Bisson is majoring in marketing.
