In Rivier's sociology program, you'll develop a base of knowledge about society, social institutions, and social structures and how they affect social relations. You'll also develop a strong liberal arts background. A focus on globalization helps students understand the larger impact of their actions, while an emphasis on diversity prepares students to work with and understand other cultures.

Facilities and resources

The recently renovated and expanded Regina Library offers 91,000 volumes and access to more than 3 million volumes in 12 area libraries. Students also have online access to licensed databases in sociology and social work. You'll get personal attention and mentoring in a small department, including the opportunity to present original research at regional conferences.

Jobs and internships

Rivier sociology graduates have gone on to careers in government, business, human resources, health organizations, social work, gerontology, criminal justice, and  research. Many say their Rivier education served as a strong foundation for graduate studies in sociology, anthropology, law, social work, public health, management, or other programs requiring a sophisticated knowledge of society, social processes, and social structure.
