Transfer students are evaluated on the overall strength of their academic record. A minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average is preferred. Assessment focuses primarily on college work completed at accredited colleges and universities. High school record may be considered if the applicant has completed less than 12 credits on the collegiate level. Also considered are career goals, life experiences, extracurricular activities, and employment. Several scholarships are available to transfer students

Rivier accepts up to 90 credits towards a bachelor’s degree and up to 45 credits toward an associate’s degree. Courses for which a student received at least a 2.0 average on a 4.0 scale are eligible for transfer, if the course content meets a program requirement at Rivier or can be used as an elective. Official college transcripts and catalogs with course descriptions or course syllabi are required for transfer credit evaluation.

- Application for Admission: online application or paper version
- Application Fee: non refundable $25. Checks should be made
payable to Rivier College. Online applicants may pay by credit card.
- Essay: topics are listed on the application
- Official High School Transcript: including 1st quarter senior
year grades for current high school seniors or GED. The high school transcript is required of all students who have not completed a college degree.
- Official College Transcripts: We require an official college transcript from each college attended.
- SAT I or ACT test scores: Rivier's SAT code is 3728; the ACT
code is 2520. To register for the SAT go to: HYPERLINK "http://www.collegeboard.com"
www.collegeboard.com (Applicants 24 years or older are not required
to submit SAT or ACT scores unless applying for nursing.)
- Nursing applicants who have not previously taken the SAT I or ACT
within a six year period will be required to take the NLN Pre-Admission
Exam. (Rivier NLN code = 12206). Click

- Letter of Recommendation: one letter is required, two are recommended.
Letters of recommendation should come from a guidance counselor, teacher/professor,
advisor, or employer.
- Personal Interview and Campus Tour: highly recommended
- Art Students only: In addition to the above, students may submit
an art portfolio in slide format for departmental review.
- Nursing Students Only: Please note that admissions requirements
for prospective nursing students include Chemistry and Algebra. LPN's and RN's should contact the Office of Undergraduate
Admissions for further application requirements.
