Rivier’s psychology majors study the science of human behavior and mental processes to gain a greater understanding of how the body and mind work. Through coursework and psychological research studies, students develop strong analytical skills, and become effective communicators and creative problem solvers.
Graduates are prepared for careers in a variety of careers in healthcare, social services, education, business, and government agencies.
Rivier’s Behavioral Science Lab, equipped with Empirisoft MediaLab and DirectRT software packages for precise measurements and with SPSS for data analysis, provide advanced undergraduates with the space and instrumentation to design experiments. Students collect data, and analyze and interpret results obtained from original research studies conducted under the mentorship of Rivier faculty.
Additionally, psychology degree graduates are well-prepared for study at the master’s level.
