The MBA in Information Technology Management offers a strong foundation in business management functions along with concentrated study in the practical management of information technology. Specific focus is placed on e-business considerations, computer security, and process improvement.

In addition to accounting, marketing, economics, finance, operations and quality management, curriculum topics include strategic innovation, relational databases, risk and statistical analysis and facilities planning.

All courses within the program stress the importance of:

  • developing critical thinking skills to analyze situations;
  • evaluating technological innovation opportunities for organizations;
  • utilizing effective communication techniques;
  • and analyzing and solving situations that present legal and ethical issues.

Faculty are industry practitioners; they draw from their years of business experience to integrate real-world case studies and business challenges into the coursework. Students bring their work experiences to the classroom, as well, enriching the education experience.

Rivier’s MBA in Information Technology Management is a 36-credit program. Courses are offered in 7-week or 14-week terms. There are a total of six 7-week terms per year (two terms in each of the fall, spring, and summer semesters). 14-week terms are offered once per semester in the fall, spring, and summer. Classes are conducted in a hybrid format (a combination of on-site classes offered during the evening and online coursework).

Many Rivier MBA students are employed full-time and attend the University on a part-time basis. Most students complete their degree within 12 to 24 months.

Rivier also offers an online MBA with concentration in Information Technology Management.
