M.Ed. Educational Administration certification program
C.A.G.S. Educational Administration
Rivier's programs are based on the standards for certification identified by the New Hampshire Department of Education and the Massachusetts Department of Education. They incorporate the recommendations of the American Association of School Administrators and the National Association of Secondary School Principals Assessment Center Project. Our programs also address the competencies identified as standards for school leaders by the Interstate Leaders Licensure Consortium, a program of the Council of Chief State School Officers.
Students learn through a variety of case studies, classroom and field-based experiences, including a 150-hour internship with a certified school principal or superintendent.
Facilities and Resources
Rivier's Education Center is one of the finest facilities of its kind in northern New England. The Education Center houses the Cho Educational Resource Center, an extensive K-12 curriculum library. The ERC includes recently published textbooks, educational software, a parenting resource center, a children's literature collection, videos and more. Rivier has become a statewide leader in preparing teachers to incorporate technology into their classrooms.
Partnerships and careers
With a Rivier education degree, you will be eligible for certification in 40 states plus the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands, and the U.S. Department of Defense Dependents Schools around the world. Rivier has partnerships with schools and districts throughout the region, making it easy for each student to find an internship in the setting that best suits his or her goals.
You'll find Rivier graduates working as administrators in schools and districts across the country and around the world. They work in public and private schools and in rural, urban, and suburban settings—they thrive in any environment you could imagine.
