Rivier's psychology and human development programs will help you fully explore and understand the science of human behavior. You'll develop strong analytical skills, become an effective communicator, and learn to solve problems creatively. A minor in social work offers hands-on experience with local social service agencies and can help you become more competitive in the job market.

Psychology facilities and resources:
The behavioral sciences lab includes five computers with Empirisoft MediaLab and DirectRT software for millisecond precision in measuring cognition and perception from human subjects. Computers are also equipped with SPSS for data analysis.

The clinical lab provides space for individual and group therapy, testing, assessment and research. The room permits students at the graduate level to gain experience under supervision while maintaining privacy.

Jobs and internships

Rivier graduates have gone on to work as counselors, licensed psychologists, case managers, and more. Partnerships with agencies throughout the area provide plentiful internship opportunities—students have interned at the Child Advocacy Center, Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter, Nashua's Senior Activity Center, Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center, Nashua District Court Juvenile Justice Services, and more.
