What extra-curricular activities are available to business students?
The Rivier University Department of Business Administration sponsors co-curricular activities with the Rivier University Business Student Organization. The RCBSO engages in intellectual and social programs including field trips, professional guest speakers, and altruistic projects such as the Junior Achievement Volunteer Program. The various programs offer opportunities for business students to develop leadership skills as well as communication skills. Members of the RCBSO have an advantage in developing important professional contacts. Numerous campus-wide extra-curricular activities include academic and social organizations, inter-collegiate athletic programs, recreational and fitness activities, Theater Company and Art Gallery in addition to the Multicultural Center.

A wide variety of internship opportunities are available in the public and private sectors for students who are interested in enhancing their learning experience. Business students have participated in internships in various functional areas including accounting, marketing, management, and technology fields in small businesses, large corporate environments, and non-profit organizations. Business students are strongly encouraged to accept internship opportunities because of the distinct advantage of this applied learning activity.

Rivier University Department of Business Administration faculty are affiliated with professional organizations at the local, state, and national levels. Faculty have developed a strong presence in the community through membership in the local Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, and the Rivier University Business Advisory Council. In addition, faculty are active in various professional organizations such as the National Business Education Association, Eastern Business Education Association, New Hampshire Business Education Association, National Business & Professional Women/USA, and the American Marketing Association to name a few. Faculty have been named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and have been inducted into several prestigious honor societies.
