Multiple positions available
Christ the King Service Corps, Detroit, MI

Posted:  Updated Regularly
Deadline:  Ongoing

The Christ the King Service Corps is a faith-based community of volunteers living and working in Northwest Detroit to help agencies and institutions expand and strengthen their efforts to serve the people of Detroit. Our community is based on three pillars -- Faith, Service & Simplicity.

The CKSC is a faith-based community, originally founded by members of Christ the King Catholic Church. CKSC members participate in retreats, community reflection, and the Christ the King parish community. CKSC volunteers have many opportunities to explore their faith and grow spiritually while living in community

In partnership with Christ the King Catholic School and Church, MOSES, Neighborhood Services Organization, St. Christopher Parish, and other organizations committed to the people of Detroit, CKSC members teach, perform outreach to the disabled and disadvantaged, and help communities organize to improve the quality of life for their residents.

The Christ the King Service Corps is able to provide volunteers to non-profit organizations because our members make the commitment to live in simple community while serving with the CKSC. Volunteers often view the experience of living an intentionally simple life as invaluable, giving them a chance to focus on the things in life that are truly important rather than the pursuit of material possessions.
